Our Mission

⎯⎯

Concord Group’s mission is to prepare Georgetown students to lead in an era of strategic competition by connecting them to the people and problems that define U.S. national security.

While it’s common to hear about U.S. national security issues, it’s less common to hear about student-led groups in academia taking initiative to address them. U.S. national security will continue to be contested, easily seen in the Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic theaters. This is why we deliberately designed our 501c3 national security organization to provide students real-world experience through our programming and research/project teams. Having access to those actively working in national security spaces and their workplaces is a huge gap we identified, which is why we invite defense officials, intelligence officers, congressional staff, and more every semester, alongside conducting site visits. Our analysts also work in research or project teams, further teaching and refining skills and expertise transferable to the workforce.

Founded in 2024, Concord continues to grow but remains a close community by design. Our analysts should be able to have access and the ability to ask practitioners questions and receive answers back. Building rapport and connections with these professionals is key in turning a normal speaker event into a network, later leading to a career.
